Looking into the question “How might we create global environmental impact, by collective participation in simple, individual tasks?” Sponge Suit presents the concept “clean as you swim” with a swimwear that incorporates a carbon based novel material that repels water and absorbs any oil based contamination. The material’s super-porous structure traps absorbed contamination within, preventing from continuing interaction with human skin. The project aims to highlight the ocean pollution that is spreading into our beaches, and is a call to action to be more environmentally proactive in daily or leisure activities.
