Kai Kresek is the Data Specialist for Global Forest Watch (GFW). Global Forest Watch is an online platform, established by the World Resources Institute, that provides data and tools for monitoring forests. Kai researches and analyzes remote sensing and spatial data, as well as supports Global Forest Watch's strategy and partnerships for satellite-based forest monitoring. She also manages the Global Forest Watch Open Data Portal, which enables users to download forest-related data free of charge. Kai has a particular interest in researching and compiling contextual data that enhances our understanding of the drivers of deforestation. Additionally, she enjoys nurturing her passion for science and data communication by developing educational materials and content for users, such as blogs and webinars about Global Forest Watch data and research.
