In the morning of June 14, 2019, several Turkish industry experts and professionals from different work fields and interests gathered at Tasarım Atölyesi Kadıköy (TAK), to attend the second Universal Design Workshop in Istanbul by SOUR (formerly known as Eray/Carbajo).
Universal design supports the independence of all people, regardless of their different abilities. Flexible, equitable, simple, perceptible, minimizing error, within appropriate size and space, and requiring minimum physical effort – these principles of universal design has always been actively implemented in the research and work of SOUR. These principles should not limit themselves solely to the field of architecture and design, they should always be applied to in different industries, both for consumer products/services and business processes as well. Therefore, SOUR’s Universal Design workshop aims to raise awareness on inclusivity and generate a cross-sectorial discussion on the subjects such as inclusiveness, smart cities and the urban future.
We were very happy to be joined by academics and professionals from Bilgi University, Teknoloji ve İnsan Kolejleri (Tink), Signify, Metro Istanbul, Istanbul Technical University.
