SOUR is a global design studio with the mission to address social and urban problems.

We serve our mission through mixed-methods research, community co-creation, process innovation, and digital fabrication. We bridge the gap between research and design by generating actionable insights.

There is enough sugar-coating. It is time we get real and be SOUR.

While SOUR is a play on words social and urban, it also represents our attitude. We welcome acquired tastes, embrace the discomfort of the new, and enjoy being in the grey.

Community Co-creation
We recruit and work with diverse members of the communities we are serving, to create inclusive processes that enable authentic outcomes.
Urban Design, Architecture, Interior Design
We design spaces and places that are informed by research, empowered by technology, infused with sustainable practices, and inspired by people.
Process Documentaries
We document our research and design process to create authentic storytelling tools for stakeholders and audiences.
Rapid Prototyping, Experimentation & Soft Launch Preparation
We enable iterative design through digital and physical low-mid-fidelity prototyping, testing, and simulation. We support brands to become launch-ready by producing quantities that are difficult to accomplish for corporations.
Mixed-Methods Research
From diary studies to digital ethnography, we create a custom blend of research methods for each project to ensure we generate actionable insights for the next steps.
Product & UX Design
We practice co-design to generate authentic physical and digital experiences for diverse audiences.
Strategic Interventions for Process Innovation
We create tactical interventions and safe-to-fail experiments to address challenges within systems, in order to incubate innovation and accelerate progress toward corporate ESG goals.
Community Engagement
We design and implement post-launch community engagement initiatives to gather collective feedback and empower ongoing dialogue.
